Gyakie, the award-winning Afrobeats singer from Ghana, initially aspired to be an entrepreneur rather than a singer.

Pursuing her dream, she studied International Business at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where her music journey began.

During an interview on The Day Show with Berla Mundi, Gyakie shared how she encountered her producer, Sosa, on the KNUST campus through a friend.

She explained; “So before I got into the university because that’s where everything started for me. Before I went to KNUST I just wanted to be an entrepreneur, I wanted to be getting money so I studied International Business in KNUST until I met my producer, Sosa on campus through a friend,”

Despite her initial career goals, a beat sent to her by Sosa marked the beginning of her musical journey, leading to the release of hit songs such as “Forever“, “Never like this,” “Something,” “Rent Free and others.
